For Matt, it all started with video games and a computer that needed constant coaxing.

Growing up, he was the unofficial IT guy for his friends, always troubleshooting, fixing, and figuring out how to make things run better. But the moment that truly sparked his passion came later, when he began volunteering on a church production team in college. From sound mixing to camera work to lighting design, Matt discovered how much he loved the blend of creativity, technology, and problem-solving. That experience shifted his path from pre-pharmacy to IT.

After college, Matt moved to New Jersey and commuted into Manhattan to attend an IT program, where he earned his A+ certification. That opened the door to his first IT role at a local hospital, performing Windows 10 upgrades. Since then, he’s steadily grown his skills and career through hands-on work and a love for learning.

At Stepping Forward, Matt thrives in the collaborative culture. He values a team environment where people work together, share knowledge, and solve problems faster for clients. His goal is to bring calm into stressful IT moments, helping clients take a breath, trust the process, and know their issue will be resolved.

Outside of work, Matt loves cooking on his smoker, especially brisket, pork, and chicken. He and his wife, Katie, often team up, he handles the meats while she bakes the bread. He also enjoys hiking, video games, and tinkering with computers and servers at home.
