Dave Cotton

For Dave, it all started with curiosity and a screwdriver.
Since the age of 10, he’s been taking apart electronics to understand how they worked. That curiosity eventually grew into building and pushing his first PC, a Tandy 1000 TL/3, to the absolute edge of what it could do. Without the budget for newer systems, Dave learned early on how to maximize the technology he had through creativity, persistence, and self teaching.
That passion for learning never slowed down. Over the years, Dave continued building systems and expanding his technical expertise, earning certifications including A+, Network+, Server+, ACSP, Jamf Admin, and VMware CSP. His experience combines deep technical knowledge with a practical understanding of how technology can support long term business growth.
At Stepping Forward, Dave enjoys working closely with clients to help turn their ideas into scalable solutions. He understands that many business owners know what they want their technology to accomplish, even if they do not always know how to communicate it technically. Helping bridge that gap and building systems that support future growth is one of the most rewarding parts of his work.
Dave also takes pride in mentoring and training the helpdesk team, helping create a culture of excitement, growth, and excellent client service. His goal is to provide both quick solutions and long term strategies that keep clients confident and supported.
Outside of work, Dave enjoys cooking with his wife, hiking with his family, and embracing a new season of travel as they work toward seeing more of the world together.
